Exhibition / Kortrijk ‘Interieur 08’, some product highlights

No huge innovations this year at the ‘Interieur’ fair in Kortrijk Belgium. I’ll mention a few things that may be of interest.

Grohe dedicated his stand almost exclusively to his Ondus series. A series with a very sleek feel, Ipod like temperature controls and with finishes earlier found on electronic devices amongst them the Logitec television remotes (velvet black.) It’s nice to see these techniques filter through to the bathroom environment. Ondus presents a stylish digital integration which gives the user the possibilities to store his own profile of water flow and temperature at the flick of a button. The complete range can be found at ‘Ondus Grohe’

A few radiators from Oreca-design, Belgium caught my attention. More info can be found at Oreca-Design

Symo NV

Some outdoor products from Symo NV, Belgium worth mentioning.

Feek, Belgium displayed an interesting process of foam coating. A process of a polyurethane based lacquer system applied to foam. It is sprayed on and can thus be applied to any shape. Evidently it is very flexible, has a rubbery feel to it and with the necessary care can be used outdoors as well. Some may recall the rubbery square stools of Arne Quinze. It is an affordable process for one-off applications and recently a magnetic process can be applied to put images into the lacquer. More info at www.feek.be

Last but not least are the products of Under Cover. They produce plaster type composite shapes and profiles to be seamlessly integrated with the interior. These shapes can seamless integrate lights, radiators or doors. The composite is completely compatible with the contraction and expansion of plasterboard material.
