Exhibition / Building and renovation fair Batibouw 2010 Brussels

I just visited the Batibouw fair 2010 in Brussels. Probably one of the biggest building and renovation fairs in Europe. It’s a great place for the interior designer to have a stroll. Although 11 pavilions large the place felt absolutely packed.
Below a few items I picked out.

The RainBrain from hansgrohe. A slick digital display controlling all showerheads, temperature and water volumes. User profiles can be stored and recalled at the touch of a button. There are shower programmes allowing for showerhead and temperature alternations and if you connect up some speakers you can even control via Bluetooth your mp3 player though this command panel. Pure luxury.

The HANSALATRAVA the electronically controlled new tap by Hansa.

Newly introduced to the uniflex collection from Gebrit is this in the wall shower siphon allowing the floor to stay intact. A great solution in a minimalist design.

Axor Urquiola was on show. A beautiful bathroom range designed by Patricia Urquiola. A few items of the collections are shown below.

The Dutch manufacturer Wavin reinforced his Smartfix range. Solid manufactured push fittings for their multilayered piping system. Cut the pipe, de-burr, and push the pipe beyond the reference dot and done. No more risk to forget to press a fitting and still the quality of a multilayered plastic-aluminium-plastic installation.

When I look at this furniture I think: ‘how EXPENSIVE must it be’. It is so nice and well-designed.

Ingenious designs, I wish I could go to these fairs, are these items expensive?

Wavin N.V. is a Dutch manufacturer of pipes (mainly for drainage and water supply purposes).

Thanks for that. You are right Wavin is Dutch and not German. We will correct it. Cheers
