So I have to admit it ID-Sphere was crippled this month. The site was hacked and used for unfriendly purposes. It has taken me about 2 full weeks to find out what the hackers were doing, how they were doing it and more importantly how to stop them and close the security holes. They used sequel injection to infect the ID-Sphere database with an iframe tag to call up code from another site. During the struggle against the IT evil ID-Sphere had to be taken down various times. My apologies for the inconvenience and trouble this event may have caused to anyone. Nevertheless this small setback is not going to stop us from doing what we think is right, sharing information.
I have gotten involved with Metropolitan works, a separate division under the hood of the Metropolitan university here in London. It provides digital , prototyping and CAD services to the industry, ranging form 5 axis CNC machining, waterjet and laser cutting, laser sintering 3D printing, classes on Rhino and Solidworks amongst other things. In the coming months I hope to share some of the things that are going on there and will be commenting about the processes more in debt.
In terms of exhibitions May seems to define itself by the postponements of shows. Both KBB shows are cancelled, so is the London Furniture show and the Home and Garden show. Seems the economic downturn isn't finished just yet. The Design Museum has 2 talks going in the first half of this month: Design meets disability and Penny Sparke on Modern interior, and near the end of May the Free Range Art & Design Degree Show kicks of, Europe's largest graduate art and design show. The forum has been busier. More people posted there profile and services in the 'My service' section and someone wonders how the UK Creative job market is. Maybe some of you like to shed a light on that.
