Hi,
If anyone with great insights and connections to furniture is tuned in (Lizzy?), then I would appreciate your direction to finding a sofa design that might fit the following description:
"organic, fluid, ergonomic design, skinny (NOT fat padded traditional look), minimal but comfortable, exposed wood frame combined with cushioning sufficient to create real functional comfort"
I hate the look of fat, bulky padding in furniture. I believe that it can be comfortable, slick looking and open — no need for all that cloth and padding. Sculptural, modern okay, but (again) ergonomic, real comfortable design. I know it's out there, but I forgot where I saw it.
Just trying to start creating my own interior design philosophy here. I'm a baby at this.
Thanks for insights,
Robert Kernodle

Is this an existing design you are looking for or any sofa that correspond to your description? What price range were you thinking of? The description you gave sounds like a limited edition or something custom made and those don't come cheap.

Hi Lizzy,
Sorry for the 1-month delay in replying to your question:
You asked whether I was looking for an existing design or whether I was looking for any sofa design that might fit my verbal description in the first post of this topic.
My answer is: I remember many years ago seeing a series of furniture (chairs, sofa) that I would describe as "skinny" and very well engineered for comfort. I forgot who made it or where the company was located. The designers obviously were well tuned to realistic, ergonomic comfort with a rather minimalist design – sort of like lawn furniture, but better, … very contemporary, simple, but elegant at the same time.
Of course, I am interested in seeing pictures of any sofa that might fit my verbal description. Custom-made is out of the question.

Hi Hello Everyone ,
This is Lilly Michelle , and am new to this Forum . I remember many years ago seeing a series of furniture (chairs, sofa)
that I would describe as "skinny" and very well engineered for comfort.
I forgot who made it or where the company was located. But now it has been changed like many types of wooden or Leather furniture are there in our Market .

hello,
i think is know where you could find this 'skinny' sofa you're looking for, I was looking for the same thing and I came across this Borge Mogensen style sofa, danish design, warm tones of tan, with mahogany frame, really comfortable. I bought it from andrew nebbett antiques in church street ( www. andrewnebbett.com) . hope that helps, luisa
