On a blog the blogger initiates a post or topic to which people can react. On a forum everyone can start a topic.

Blog is ususally where you write an article or post good content like videos and pictures and everyone else comments on it. Forum is wherein every member can post topics and can reply.

Though similar in terms of getting ideas flowing, a forum is very much different from a blog. In a forum, there are a lot of users who contribute to a certain topic being talked about and though the same could be said with a blog, the flow of idea is basically coming from one person, the author.
All the other users who are in it, are practically just commenting on what has to be done. I mean, they hold lesser significance to what is going to be talked about.

Derek has about summarized it here, I think. A blog is where someone, or some people, create posts that others can read or comment on. A forum, on the other hand, is a message board where any user can create posts, and everyone can read them or comment on them.

Where people can easily post topics and make replies to those topics are forums and blogs are those where you can right good content articles,post videos or images related to the information provided by you in the articles..!!

generally forums can have many verticals but blog mainly have one.there are some limits to give access to the blog but for the forums there is no limit

In blog you can post information about anyhting you want you can have desired blog domain name but in forms you can not only share information but also discuss any topics but forum does not provide your any personal domain name.

In Blog commenting you write a blog and other one comment on it. In forrum commenting one peroson start a thread and all give their suggestion and advice to that. In Forum commenting you can start a new thread.

A forum was once called a bulletin board due to the manner in which
users say what they say. Each user’s comment can be placed in the thread
that he wants it in and the thread appears to be a conversation, albeit
a very long one, that could last a up to a few months or even years.
Forums are usually niche specific so that likeminded people gather
around the forums that they are most drawn to. There are forums that
talk about computer technology, about motorcycles, even pets.
The second one is the blog. This is like creating your own webpage but
the blog site that you are using usually provides templates so that your
page is automatically set up.A blog is like an online diary than anybody can read and leave comments
on. Although there are a lot people who use blogs for this purpose, most
people who do make blogs usually discuss events or issues that have
affected them.

A forum is an online discussion where all the members of that forum participates and write their thoughts and opinions in a category or a thread and post must be relevant whereas in blog you write anything you like and if your readers like your post, they write comments and you can reple them as well.

Blog is a more like a persoal website where you post stuff that are of interest to you and other people can only comment, while a forum is more like a online community where people register and participate in different discussions.
