Blinds that are your art…

International pop artist, Deborah Azzopardi had designed some signed limited edition blinds. There are only 50 of them in each colourway that have been produced and they are selling for between £300 and £500 instead of over £1,000 – the price of one of her limited edition prints. Thegoodwebguide.co.uk is runnning a giving away three of her blinds in an exclusive giveaway. A good chance to snap up a collectors item.

While many people do not relate the health condition of the residents with the type of window treatments
that are to be used in a room, the fact is that some window coverings
need to be discounted immediately due to allergies and respiratory
issues. For example, a person with severe asthma may not want wooden Venetian blinds or plastic miniblinds used in the room. Blinds
tend to be a magnet for dust collection, which would mean they would
need to be cleaned daily. As any housecleaner can tell you, thoroughly
cleaning blinds is a time consuming task. By contrast, curtain materials that are light and airy are much easier to keep free of dust mites and would be a healthier option for the asthma sufferer.

I really can't see the dust on your blinds becomming a huge problem. You can simply dust them or even take them down, dunk in the shower and re-hang once dry. The job will takle seconds!

Thanks for the info on Deborah's give away. I've just had a look they are tru;lly beautiful not sure how commercial they would ever be though so it's probably a good thing they are a one off.

For blinds for windows wooden blinds can be considered as a good option. Wood due to its inherent nature gives a warm and luxurious look to the windows where it is used.

Because a single panel of material makes up roller blinds, you can easily decorate or paint them to your exact specifications without any fuss. Spray paint stencils onto the blinds or hand-paint them with your own custom-made designs. Roller blinds are much easier to transform in this way than other types of shades.

That's a great idea mitsukoeida. The other thing you can do with roller blinds is that most suppliers will allow you to add trims, pulls and decorative pieces to the blinds. I have seen some with a row of faux flowers stuck along the bottom of the blind that look great. They are on the net here – Order Blinds
