Greetings. My first post here.
Here’s one for the color experts. I'm about to start a renovation that will include a small bathroom in the pitch of the attic. I would like to use large dark tiles. Maybe bronze or brown but I’m worried about such a dark color scheme in such a small space will make the space look smaller. Would this work?

Your space will indeed look smaller with dark tiles. If you use dark tiles it is recommended that you have sufficient space and a lot of natural light 2 things which are often restricted in attic room constructions. This is a case study I have done. An attic bathroom renovation going from a dark setup to a white layout: http://www.id-sphere.com/2008/…..in-london/
All best with your endeavours. Let us know how you get on. Post some pictures.

Wow Lizzy! This is fantastic, very helpful, thank you. If I'm not being too troublesome, I was wondering if you could tell me the height of the highest and lowest diemtions of the pitched wall (shower wall)?

I had to go in my technical archives for that one but here it is. The 1750 dimension is 1630 to the line you need that corresponds to the 1215 height. I hope it helps.

There's a very nice example of a fairly small bathroom using dark tiles here, it's the third image down on the right

Having a dark color make your small bathroom looks' smaller. Much better if you will used a light color because it makes you feel more spacious.

When
selecting a tile size for a bathroom, it is important to consider the
size of the bathroom itself. A large bathroom can support a wider range
of tile sizes, while a small bathroom can appear even smaller depending
on the chosen tile size. Although there is a more limited range of tile
sizes for smaller bathrooms, there is still some choice involved. The
use of pattern, color and grout work also matters when it comes to
making a small bathroom appear larger.

I'd go for light airy colours as well as either a light coloured roller blind or roman blind as they aren't going to encroach on your room as much and as long as you keep the colours light they will actually make the room seem bigger.

Hi friend,
I am using light pink and white tiles in my bathroom.Il looks awesome. But light color want daily cleaning. If you can clean iot daily then you should use light color. Light color is more attractive. You can also take advice from Flooring Limerick. I took advice there.

Using dark coloured tiles in a small space will make the bathroom look even more cramped. Dark tiles if at all need to be used can be placed smartly for instance the side borders can be using dark colours and the other areas with a lighter hue.

Light colour titles most suit for small room; ultimately it
gives spacious look to small room.
If you eagerly want to use dark colour titles,
choose the right colour combinations and
place them.

A bathroom in the attic – sounds interesting though I'm hearing it for the first time. I'd go for light natural colors to make the space look bigger than it is. Perhaps light olive green to depict freshness and try install a window in the roof as well. Good luck.

Light colors tiles helps to look room more spacious. So, avoid
dark color tiles and use light blue or pink which looks nice and spacious.

Selecting the right bathroom tile is essential to creating a warm and
inviting room. The wrong tile can make a bathroom look odd, too small,
too large, or even unclean and untidy.
