Bedroom design ideas?

Hello all,

This is my first post here, so please be patient.

I've recently moved into a riverside penthouse apartment, which I chose mostly for the view, but I've found myself with a beautifully built, spacious, modern apartment as part of the deal.

I've spent a lot of time, effort and money in my lounge. It looks great in my opinion, relaxing and comfortable but also modern and stylish.

Now, I'm completely at a loss with what to do in my bedroom, I've got no idea how to make it look good. Plum with cream is my chosen colour scheme, but I really have a blank canvas, and I've got artist's block. The room is a good size, but has a sloping wall, which means it is not square. There is a large window with a Juliet balcony, but it is in one corner.

Everything currently in this room is cream, the walls are cream, and the carpet is cream. I have no bedroom furniture at the moment.

I was wondering if anyone can give me any advice before I start, I'm usually quite creative, but as I've said, I have no idea what I really want to do. The room is big enough to take a dark colour, but because of the location of the balcony, I don't want it to be too DARK.

Any advice appreciated, and I can post pictures and plans if this would help anyone with giving me some ideas.

Thank you in advance,

Best Regards,

Penthousing.

So you can see the kind of thing I like, here are the photographs of my lounge. I'm very proud of it. I'll post pics of my bedroom soon.

The theme of plum and cream is nice. If you want to keep the room looking bright then I suggest you use more of cream and less of plum paint in the room. As the roof is also slant if you put more of dark colours it will lookcramped.

If you choose to use cream paint as the base then you can add colour through the furniture, plum coloured curtains will look good.

I hope these suggestions help you out in some way :)

Thank you for your reply.

Apologies, my original post was badly worded, the roof is not at a slope, one of the walls is at an angle, rather.

Here are the photographs and plan of the room.

Because the balcony windows aren't in the centre of the wall, and the corner goes to an acute angle, I don't want this to be dark, however I did want to use a feature wall.

I'm totally open minded here, I have no furniture at the moment, I'm waiting to order some. The double bed has arrived, but it is in the other bedroom until I'm ready to move in to this room, at which point the other bedroom will become my office.

Regards,
